Cleantech’s Venture Week applications are open!

Posted on Sep 15, 2020 by Cambridge Catalyst

Pitch your ideas to an audience of cleantech investors at Cambridge Cleantech and Oxford’s Greentech’s pitching investment event

To be held this year in a digital format, the pitching-and-investment day will take place during the week-long event from 23-26 November.

Cleantech Venture Day has been an event for the cleantech community since its first run in Finland in 2006. Over the past 14 years, over 250 companies have pitched at Cleantech Venture Days and as much as 650 million euros invested as a result.

Cambridge Cleantech has been running Cleantech Venture Day in the UK since 2017, and this time, it is partnering with Oxfordshire Greentech to launch the first digital edition.

“The pandemic has created a challenging environment for climate positive start-ups to raise funding, but we know we have no time to wait to bring these innovative ideas into fruition – we need solutions today. I am excited to host Cleantech Venture Week in a digital format, building on our past successes and creating ways for investors and innovators to engage in new ways,” said Martin Garratt, CEO of Cambridge Cleantech.

The last Cleantech Venture Day held in February 2020 was attended from stalwarts in sustainable impact investmentincluding Engie, Carbon Trust Ventures, Sustainable Ventures and Grid.vc. It received over 100 applications from around the world and the top investment-ready cleantech companies were invited to pitch.

It also successfully introduced cleantech SMEs to four multinational corporates, Schneider Electric, Lafarge Holcim, Capgemini and Bouygues in a Meet the Buyer event held at the Residence de France, in Kensington Palace Gardens in London.

The event is a key opportunity for cleantech SMEs and businesses seeking to secure funding, as well as experienced fund managers, business angels and corporate investors eagor to invest in disruptive climate-positive technologies. The event creates pre-matched meetings between innovators and investors, making the networking process more efficient – particularly from the comfort of their own homes!
